Four More Years

This week marks the fourth anniversary of the war in Iraq: the fourth year of trudging through the quagmire, the fourth year of a growing tally of casualties, the fourth year of an administration scrambling to convince the American people that everything is going just fine, and the fourth year of democracy and liberation for the Iraqi people. The birthday celebration consisted of vociferous protests in Washington, D.C. and urges of patience from the Bush administration. With a pained look on his stress-wrinkled face, President Bush warned against the temptation "to pack up and go home" as the House prepared to vote on a Dem proposal to set a timeline on bringing the troops home.

This week was an extra-special showing of anti-war sentiment in the streets and on the op-ed pages.
